Taking its cue from the Rivereast Building's proximity to the Willamette River and its use as a boat house for many Portland rowing teams, the images of the RiverEast Panorama share a focus point of the dock below the RiverEast Building. The images referenced in the paintings were gleaned from hundreds I shot during various times of day and weather. I collaborated closely with the building's developer and design team to generate a strong and meaningful art piece.
The installation consists of five plywood panels that float away from the wall. The panels are tied together by the waterline of the Willamette. This is echoed by the two-toned wall paint behind. The panels are painted in oil on birch plywood.
The RiverEast Building is open to the public during office hours. The piece is located in the first floor hallway.
